PP/PRODUCT PRESENTATION

This catalog shows only a few of the basic TRUSSFRAME® shapes, design loads and representative construction details.  CBS manufactures over 8000 standard TRUSSFRAME® variations in addition to many special profiles and accessories.  Delivery is usually two weeks for the most popular spans.  A comprehensive 48-page TRUSSFRAME® Design Mini Manual is available free from Coronis Building Systems, Inc.

MR/MANUFACTURER

CBS, in business since 1956, developed its pre-engineered steel TRUSSFRAME® system to satisfy a special need in the industry.  A framing system available – with or without columns – for designers closest to the jobsite who can now select and specify a locally furnished choice of components (purlins, girts, roof covering, wall covering, masonry walls, etc.) to complete structures.  This system has minimal (if any) horizontal reaction; eliminates tie rods, reduces the number and diameter of anchor bolts and substantially reduces the size of concrete piers.

The TRUSSFRAME® system permits architects and engineers total architectural freedom and framing flexibility to design the entire structure.  TRUSSFRAMES® make it possible for architects and engineers to expand into the design-build and construction-management fields.

Centrally located between Boston and Washington, CBS markets it TRUSSFRAME® system factory-direct throughout the U.S and Canada.

Pre-engineered steel TRUSSFRAMES® make it possible to use steel, wood, masonry and other components to custom design and erect versatile, completely column-free one or two-story buildings of any size or shape.  This concept proven in the U.S. and Canada combines local materials and local labor to develop attractive structures at a lower cost. TRUSSFRAMES® have been shipped to the South Pacific, Bermuda, Nassau, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten and Grenada and are gaining world-wide acceptance as “the other way to build”. Designed from structural steel shapes, TRUSSFRAMES® are pre-engineered and available in 5ft increments up to 200ft clear span (or multiple spans), 2ft multiples in column height and in four standard roof slopes.  Special slopes are available to match existing structures or achieve special architectural effects.  Design loads range from 20# to 75# psf.  In addition to 18 standard series to select from, special loadings are achieved by adjusting frame spacing.

TRUSSFRAME® top chord – on all series and slopes –is uniformly loaded.  A choice of steel or wood purlins may be used. (Wood purlins may be dimension lumber or wood “truss purlins” furnished locally.  Steel purlins may be bar joists, steel “cees” or “zees”, junior beams, channels or other available shapes.)  Purlin spacing is not restricted to panel point positioning and may vary from 16” to 7’ –0 o.c.

TRUSSFRAMES® also make it possible to salvage and re-cover existing old structures often without interruption of daily business activities.

2x8 to 2x12 wood purlins, out of the nearest lumber yard can be used with TRUSSFRAMES®. Based on bay spacing, loading requirement and species used, purlins may be spaced from 12” to 30” centers

Bar joists (or other shapes) can be obtained from local sources.  Steel fabricators can furnish perimeter steel, miscellaneous iron and also erect the job.  TRUSSFRAMES® may be spaced 25’ to 50’ o.c. when using bar joists.

Wood “truss purlins” are available locally.  They bring about wide bay TRUSSFRAME® spacing (up to 40’ o.c.).  The system offers additional flexibility in that available loadings make it possible to space them 2’ to 4’ centers (subject to decking requirements).

“…saved $50,000.00 by our architect’s substituting the TRUSSFRAME® system for the original framing… and without changing the dimensions of our gym or the exterior architectural appearance!”

The TRUSSFRAME® system is popular for auto agencies – especially the 70ft span for both showroom and shop.  TRUSSFRAMES® have been used to frame out projects for the application in many parts of the U.S.
