This catalog
shows only a few of the basic TRUSSFRAME® shapes, design loads and
representative construction details.
CBS manufactures over 8000 standard TRUSSFRAME® variations
in addition to many special profiles and accessories. Delivery is usually two weeks for the most
popular spans. A comprehensive 48-page
TRUSSFRAME® Design Mini Manual is available free from Coronis
Building Systems, Inc. MR/MANUFACTURER CBS, in
business since 1956, developed its pre-engineered steel TRUSSFRAME®
system to satisfy a special need in the industry. A framing system available – with or
without columns – for designers closest to the jobsite who can now select and
specify a locally furnished choice of components (purlins,
girts, roof covering, wall covering, masonry walls,
etc.) to complete structures. This
system has minimal (if any) horizontal reaction; eliminates tie rods, reduces
the number and diameter of anchor bolts and substantially reduces the size of
concrete piers. The TRUSSFRAME®
system permits architects and engineers total architectural freedom and
framing flexibility to design the entire structure. TRUSSFRAMES® make it possible
for architects and engineers to expand into the design-build and
construction-management fields. Centrally

Pre-engineered
steel TRUSSFRAMES® make it possible to use steel, wood, masonry
and other components to custom design and erect versatile, completely
column-free one or two-story buildings of any size or shape. This concept proven in the TRUSSFRAME®
top chord – on all series and slopes –is uniformly loaded. A choice of steel or wood purlins may be used. (Wood purlins
may be dimension lumber or wood “truss purlins”
furnished locally. Steel purlins may be bar joists, steel “cees”
or “zees”, junior beams, channels or other available shapes.) Purlin spacing is
not restricted to panel point positioning and may vary from 16” to 7’ –0 o.c. TRUSSFRAMES®
also make it possible to salvage and re-cover existing old structures often
without interruption of daily business activities. |

wood purlins, out of the nearest lumber yard can be
used with TRUSSFRAMES®. Based on bay spacing, loading requirement
and species used, purlins may be spaced from 12” to
30” centers |
Bar joists (or
other shapes) can be obtained from local sources. Steel fabricators can furnish perimeter
steel, miscellaneous iron and also erect the job. TRUSSFRAMES® may be spaced 25’
to 50’ o.c. when using bar joists. |
Wood “truss purlins” are available locally. They bring about wide bay TRUSSFRAME®
spacing (up to 40’ o.c.). The system offers additional flexibility in
that available loadings make it possible to space them 2’ to 4’ centers
(subject to decking requirements). |

the original framing… and without changing the dimensions of our gym or the

The TRUSSFRAME®

showroom and shop. TRUSSFRAMES®
